Embracing Your Feminine Leadership in Any Industry as a Woman: The Story of Nikki Corson, CEO of Prissy Nikki

Prissy Nikki CEO Nikki Corson is the kind of inspiring woman thriving in two opposite industries: beauty and construction. Whether she’s leading her team at the multi-million dollar Roofcrafters or designing glam lashes for beauty queens and businesswomen at Prissy Nikki, she believes in leading with femininity, confidence, and pride.

She realizes that she exists in two polar opposite industries, one dominated by men and one by women, but she finds the dichotomy exciting.

“I kick a lot of butt in my heels every single day!” Corson said. “When you put time into your appearance, you feel ready to take on the day.”

As President of Roofcrafters and a certified roofing contractor in three states, she has ensured that homeowners in the Southeast have quality roofs over their heads for over a decade. She’s also been named among the best three roofing contractors in Georgia.

However, whether wearing a hard hat on a construction site or appearing on a beauty panel in heels and a dress, her lashes always look perfect, and she always knows exactly who she is: a strong, beautiful, and fierce woman.

Dual Careers

Corson knows how lucky she is to get to pursue her dream with the recent launch of her lash company. She explained that Roofcrafters has been her main source of income for many years, and it afforded her the ability to pursue Prissy Nikki, her dream company.

“We were blessed that our roofing business did not have to close down over the pandemic,” she said. “Prissy Nikki wouldn’t be possible without my amazing team there. Roofcrafters is my legacy; Prissy Nikki is my passion project.”

She’s on a mission to help other women embrace their inner fierceness. It’s a ‘look great, feel great’ vibe that she also shares on her widely listened-to podcast, Life Amplified with Nikki.

And, as if her list of accomplishments is not long enough, Corson is a mother to teen daughters, an avid philanthropist, a fitness fan, and a Women’s Entrepreneur VIP Award Winner.

“Women come up to me to tell me that I inspired them and made them realize that they need to make some changes in their own lives. It means the world to me to hear that. If I help just one person every day, I feel like I’m doing my job,” she said.

Leading With Femininity

Corson considers herself both a boss and a leader in both of her roles — but she stresses that these words are not synonyms.

“Being a boss and being a leader are not the same. I own the companies, and sure, at the end of the day, what I say goes, but that does not make me a leader. I can bark orders all day, but if I’m going to be a leader, I need to inspire people to learn, grow, and work together,” she said.

She knows that people do their jobs because they have to — because they have a boss. But they become great at their jobs, enjoy their work, and excel only when they have a leader.

“I am always evolving to become the type of person, woman, and leader that attracts the type of people I want to join my company and add to its culture. They have to buy into that culture and align with it because your team builds your culture. It starts at the top, and it trickles down,” the CEO shared.

She concentrates every day on building both of her companies into compassionate environments where teams can depend on each other and on her.

“I have to be able to count on myself first and the boundaries I have first. If I am a mess and in chaos, my company will be too. Once I figured out what kind of leader I wanted to be and the type of company I wanted to found, I knew it all started with me,” Corson said.

And the company she went on to found celebrates women in all of their forms, all of their passions, and all of their professions. Whether female leaders show up wearing construction boots or 4D Vegan lashes — or both — Corson encourages them to be fierce, empowered, and feminine.
