Golden leaves rustled and laughter filled the air as over 500 guests gathered beneath a brilliant October sky for the Central Park Conservancy Women’s Committee Fall Luncheon-one of New York’s most anticipated philanthropic traditions. This year’s event unfolded across four picturesque mid-Park locations, each adorned with richly hued florals and elegantly arranged boxed luncheons. It was an afternoon where friendship, beauty, and purpose came together in perfect harmony.
As guests toasted the season with wine and mocktails, the park’s storied paths and autumn palette framed a celebration of both community and conservation. Conversations drifted from favorite park memories to the shared commitment that keeps this urban sanctuary thriving. The luncheon reminded everyone present that Central Park is far more than an iconic landscape-it is a living work of art that depends on the generosity of those who cherish it.

That generosity has deep roots. Since its founding in 1983, the Women’s Committee-now 1,000 members strong-has raised over $200 million to sustain and enhance Central Park. Its contributions can be seen in every corner: from the restoration of the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center and the re-creation of the historic urns at Bow Bridge, to multiple renovations of Safari Playground and ongoing work at the Conservatory Garden. Each initiative reflects the Committee’s steadfast commitment to stewardship and civic pride.
Leading that vision are the women who continue to shape the Conservancy’s future. Among the distinguished guests were Central Park Conservancy President Betsy Smith, Women’s Committee President Tracey Huff, and past co-chairs Gillian Miniter, Fe Fendi, Sharon Jacob, Jenny Price, Stephanie Hessler, Rankia Cohen, Bonnie Comley, and Margo Nederlander-each embodying the belief that when passion meets purpose, great things flourish.

The luncheon, radiant with autumn color and spirit, was more than a social gathering; it was a reaffirmation of what makes New York’s heart beat. As the afternoon light faded through the trees, guests departed with renewed gratitude for the park that unites them-and for the remarkable women whose philanthropy ensures its continued vitality. In celebrating the season, the Women’s Committee once again proved that beauty and benevolence are Central Park’s most enduring traditions.
