Hi Dr. Agarkar thank you for your time. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you began your career in cosmetology?
Thank you for having me, I am Dr Jyoti Agarkar. I am founder of Glamore skin clinic which is located in Malad West, Mumbai. I have been practicing Dermatology, Cosmetology and Trichology for the past 10 years.
My expertise is in skin, hair, nails, pediatric dermatology and advanced cosmetic procedures including Lasers, Botox, Fillers, Thread, Face and Scalp PRP and minor cosmetic surgeries.
I received best Dermatologist and Cosmetologist award from Kaya Skin clinic, and got selected as best top 10 Dermatologist in Femina.
What kind of training do you need to become an expert in cosmetology and dermatology?
To become an expert in any field, I believe one has to practice regularly, get training from experts and good institutes, keep yourself updated, and you must have good hands on experience.
I pursued my post-graduation in dermatology at KJ Somaiya Medical College. After that I practiced at Grand Medical College and worked as an assistant Dermatologist in a well-known Dermatologist Clinic. I undertook training in various procedures under experts’ guidance. After that I joined as a Senior Consultant at Kaya skin clinic where I took training in all the cosmetic procedures and treatments like Laser Treatments and Anti-aging treatments including Botox, fillers, threads etc.
To keep myself updated and to attain more knowledge, I continue to attend various worldwide workshops on Anti-aging, Pediatric dermatology, and more.
How did you go about developing your business Glamore Clinic?
Expertise comes with experience. My experience has given me rare insight into Indian skin condition. This has enabled me to design and create new treatment plans for our patients.

We say health is wealth. Skin is the most exposed human organ and when it is exposed to dirt or harmful sun rays, the overall health of the skin is disturbed. Your skin’s health is as much important as your physical health. Going for procedures won’t just benefit your skin health, but also the overall look of the person.
Do you have any advice for people considering these procedures?
- Always take professionals’ / doctors’ advice for any of your skin or hair related issue.
- Complete total protocol / sessions and treatment as per the doctor’s advice.
- Follow all the do’s and don’ts after the procedure for excellent results.
Finally, what do you feel is the most rewarding part of what you do?
The smile on the face of my patients after getting good results is most rewarding for me.
Many patients come to me with different skin issues and cosmetic conditions. My favorite part of my profession is to understand my patients’ concerns and help them deal with their issues. Whether it be itching, skin rashes, irritations etc. I can help. Cosmetic issues, though they are not life threatening, affect appearance and may become a major cause of stress in people.
I feel privileged when I am able to help my young patients and my families with their skin conditions and make a treatment plan to address their concerns. It makes me feel good to see that they are happy with the results.
