Why do you call your writers ‘gurus’?

With so much content being created in so little time, people are seeking the guidance of gurus or experts to make quick informed decisions. I have founded BBN Times to create a change in the online media industry. Gurus in their fields, worth listening to, are the ones who write our articles (finance by bankers, technology by engineers, science by scientists, companies by directors, society by influencers, politics by politicians and global economy by economists). Each BBN Guru is a global influencer, CEO, Board Member, LinkedIn Top Voice, or International Best-seller.

I believe these are the real commentators of the future. Gurus identify and select what information readers actually need to know, in order to solve their problem. They collate data to maximize its usefulness. Readers, especially business leaders, feel more engaged by those who understand what they are going through and update them about the latest trends that are reshaping the fourth industrial revolution.

What makes BBN Times unique in the industry?

BBN Times is driven by an innate desire to inform, inspire, educate, and entertain readers with world-class content. What was the inspiration behind starting BBN Times?

Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Jack Dorsey inspired me to launch BBN Times. They have turned dreams into reality, forging our life as we know it. Their success didn’t happen overnight. It took them longer than you think before everything clicked into place. I have always wanted to start a company and grow it. My main aim with BBN Times is to educate people all over the world by providing them thought-provoking content that they can relate to. The battle is long and arduous, that’s a given, but with commitment and determination, no obstacle will ever be insurmountable.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

I usually start my work at 7:30 am. I plan my day by making sure that the most urgent work gets done first. I check my emails, calendar and meetings to organise my schedule at least 30 minutes before my breakfast. In this way, I can avoid any delays. Then, I sit down and plan my tasks. I try to make sure that all the work is moving forward without any glitches. I oversee and coordinate my developers’ progress on the various projects that are assigned to them. I negotiate advertising deals, keep in touch with the gurus and work on new updates.

Where do you see your business in the next five years?

Our main goal is to provide more content and become a leading online media platform. Hiring smart individuals with complementary skillsets is necessary to make the most of BBN Times’ potential in the next five years. We will invest more in artificial intelligence, augmented reality and e-learning to keep up with the latest industry trends. I would also be delighted to see BBN Times evolve and relocate in Silicon Valley. The journey is far from over and we will continue to grow.

What is the secret to writing compelling content?

Good content is planned and not treated as an afterthought. Without consistency and uniqueness, you can’t create a long-term relationship with your readers and advertising partners. Thoroughly check everything you write. Be honest and don’t publish any article the minute you’ve finished it. Take some time away from it and then come back again to the draft. Make it as perfect as possible. Content is king. It’s important to provide storytelling and hacks to readers to make their life easier. Also don’t forget to fact-check, give proofs, and rely only on trustable sources. The most exciting parts come after publishing. If the content is targeted in a proper way and the chosen topic is compelling, your audience will gladly leave a positive feedback.
