An Interview with Michael Sojdie CEO of StaffingSoft – Recruiting Software

Michael Sojdie has run the highly successful recruiting software company StaffingSoft for almost 20 years, offering a cohesive yet efficient approach to HR and recruitment. From humble beginning as an electrical engineering student at Southern Methodist University, to becoming lead architect for Fortune 1000 firms and then CEO of his own company, Mr. Sojdie is a stellar example of a businessman doing things right.

We got the chance to speak with Mr. Sojdie to learn more about his business and what was involved in his success.

Michael, what inspired you to start StaffingSoft?

As the CEO of my own IT staffing firm, ‘Interactive Object Solutions’, for over 10 years and due to our company rapid growth we found ourselves in need of a system to help us with our recruiting needs, therefore, we started looking for a system we can purchase, after months of research we could not find a system that had answers to all of our recruiting needs and affordable, therefore, I found a need to build out an enterprise-wide Applicant Tracking System for our own internal company’s staffing needs.

After several years of internal use our market research showed that there is a lack for such system in the market, and due to high demand this system was named StaffingSoft and introduced to the market in early 2000.

This has resulted in more than 19 years of profitable success with a strong clientele.

What was you background prior to starting the company and how did it help you?

I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and have completed graduate studies in computer science.  I have had extensive experience as an engineer, software developer, lead software architect and management for Fortune 1000 firms prior to starting my own staffing firm ‘Interactive Object Solutions’.

As the CEO/president of Texas-based staffing firm ‘Interactive Object Solutions’ prior to 2000, I guided the company on all levels including sales, marketing, and product development for 10 years before starting StaffingSoft, Inc in January 2000.
