Amil Nunez shows us the secrets to buying US-only goods in Australia

Amil Nunez helps Aussie shoppers buy clothes, games and more from the USA. Whether you want to make the most of Black Friday discounts or simply buy a US delivery-only item, he can help.

His business, Get My Package, allows Aussies to shop online and have their purchases shipped using a US postal address, which is first sent to their warehouse and then to your front door!

We had a chat with Amil and asked him a few questions about his business.

Does this mean we can buy anything we want?

Well, yes and no. We have to abide by the same laws as everyone else, which means you can’t go buying illegal things like drugs or weapons. But if it’s legal, go for it! US-only video games and movies, tech, clothes and shoes are all popular options. There’s a list of prohibited items on my website in case you’re not sure about something.

How much do your services cost?

Joining is free, and with a standard membership there are no monthly fees. Premium membership gives you extra services like consolidation, and costs $10 a month or $50 a year. The cost of shipping and posting each item will depend on a number of factors, including the weight and size of your purchase and the carrier you choose.

What gave you the idea for your business?

Working in warehousing and delivery made me aware that there was a real demand for US products outside of the country. Yet in a lot of cases, online stores in America don’t offer international shipping. This can present a real problem for a lot of consumers, who may only be able to buy a certain product from the US.

Purchasing items from the US can also save international customers a lot of money – goods like clothes, shoes, games, cameras and makeup are often much cheaper here than in their country. I wanted to do a service to people living overseas by making our great products available to them. And I think I did that!

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I’m quite an organised and logistical person, so I enjoy being able to oversee and optimise every aspect of my business. It’s challenging, but very rewarding seeing everything and everyone work well together. I’m really grateful for my team – we have a lot of hard-working staff on board, and we all get along great. And of course, having satisfied customers is always a nice feeling, too!

Do you provide refunds?

Yes, we do! Customers simply file a refund request online and we refund it to their nominated account within about a week. Processing time differs based on which postal carrier has been chosen. We also offer delivery and/or damage shipping insurance for a fee to give customers extra piece of mind.
