After years of stirring up intrigue and speculation from older generations, Gen Z is stepping into the workforce, limelight, and cultural conversation.
Jack Spiritas, known online as influencer FoodGuyJack, has been working hard for years to establish his social media platforms, at just 14 years old.
Spiritas is an entrepreneur, food influencer, and content creator with over 100,000 followers across his social media platforms
“Being a young person in the food industry hasn’t been easy, but I’m determined to prove to everyone just how valuable and influential my generation can be,” said Spiritas. “Even though I’ve struggled to be taken seriously in the past, I’m a firm believer that my youth is what makes my content worth watching.”
In 2022, the global influencer market reached a record value of 16.4 billion dollars. Whether or not older generations accept social media content creation as a viable career, the numbers speak for themselves – nearly half of Gen Z uses TikTok and Instagram as search engines instead of Google.
One of the most impacted industries? Food. In order for a new restaurant to succeed, they have no choice but to market aggressively within the food influencer sphere.
Enter creators like FoodGuyJack, who’s already earned partnerships with hit brands like Sprinkles Cupcakes, Raising Canes, and Goldbelly. Teens love sinking their teeth into satisfying eats just as much as millennials, Gen Xers, and Boomers, and food marketers are paying attention to what teens like Spiritas have to say.
“I embrace my age in my content,” said Spiritas. “I’m allowed a lot more creative freedom for my content compared to older, more established influencers, and I’m not afraid to push the limits of food blogging.”
Since launching his career less than two years ago, FoodGuyJack has explored unique food spots around his hometown of Dallas, Texas, as well as online storefronts that ship food nationwide.
From traditional BBQ joints to Japanese Katsu dishes to DIY brunch boxes, Spiritas unapologetically brings a valuable youth perspective to everything he posts. Be sure to follow FoodGuyJack on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. If you have a restaurant or dish you’d like him to review, send him a DM, or reach out at [email protected].
