As you get older, the more sophisticated your style becomes. No longer are you complying with the latest trends just for the sake of it. Or even just to stay relevant. A woman in her 30s is secure with her personal style choices. She knows what looks good on her even if it isn’t what everyone is wearing.
While classic items just never fade out of style, certain pieces get tossed out of your wardrobe as you mature. And actress Blake Lively knows this all too well. The A Simple Favor star shared with InStyle magazine how she’s grown as her style evolved. Lively revealed that one item she used to love but has completely outgrown in her 30s is babydoll dresses.
“I think [my style has] changed more as I’ve gotten older,” the actress reflected in the interview. She then revealed that she was a big fan of babydoll dresses and still has her collection with her. “There are lots of cute little babydoll dresses in my closet from my early 20s that I know I’m not going to wear them again because I’m not in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.”
Lively then pointed out that she needs to take a cue from Marie Kondo’s tidying up tips. However, she just isn’t ready to part ways with her clothes from the past.
“I really need to adopt the Marie Kondo method, but I haven’t yet because everything in my closet still sparks joy. My style is, hopefully, becoming more elegant over time, but I still like pink and some frills.”
