Short-form video creator Danthejuice is part of a growing shift in the creator economy, where online creators are moving from casual posting into polished production, brand work and multi-platform growth. His move from early TikTok videos to cinematic content, paid ads and a wider presence across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat shows how digital creators are building more serious, long-term creative careers.
Danthejuice known as Daniel Mensah, shares how he turned short-form videos into a serious creative path, and where he’s heading next.
Danthejuice started early, jumped on TikTok when it was still new, and kept going when most people were just watching. Five years later, he’s building a more polished, cinematic style while staying consistent across platforms. His story is simple but real. Start early, keep going, and invest when it counts.
You’ve been creating content for five years now. What inspired you to start, and what was it about TikTok that drew you in?
Danthejuice:
It was new and I knew that if I wanted to make a career out of this, I had to start now. TikTok really changed the game with short form content. I knew this was big when every platform started to copy TikTok.
Your first TikTok video was filmed while you were working at Walmart. Can you tell us more about that moment and how it felt to put yourself out there?
Danthejuice:
It’s crazy to say but it all started at a bus stop. I posted my first video not knowing what was going to happen, but it instantly got some attention so I kept going from there. I laugh every time I think about this. I was stacking shoe boxes on top of each other to make my videos at the start.
Content creation has evolved a lot since you started. How has your style changed over the years, and what have you learned along the way?
Danthejuice:
It really has changed. I learned a lot through this journey like making better edits and making my footage look like a movie using DaVinci Resolve. A year from then I realised my $1000 PC was not powerful enough for the quality I wanted. So I invested in a $6000 MacBook Pro. I’m proud of that decision. It’s only up from here. I also have a $4000 camera.
You’ve built a strong presence on multiple social media platforms. How do you balance staying active and engaged across Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok?

Danthejuice:
When filming my cinematic videos I make sure it’s content I can post on multiple platforms to stay active. I also make skits and ads on my phone to keep things consistent.
What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a content creator, and how did you overcome them?
Danthejuice:
Taking the time to learn cinematography, filming, colour grading, and a whole new software like DaVinci Resolve over the last two years. It was challenging but worth it. I’m still learning every day.
Is there a specific piece of content or moment in your career that stands out as a turning point for your growth and success?
Danthejuice:
Switching my content to professional videos helped me get noticed by TikTok. Now I’m making ads on the platform. I’m excited to see what comes next.
With so many people trying to break into content creation, what advice would you give to those just starting out?
Danthejuice:
Find your own style and stay consistent. That’s the hard part. It’s like a muscle. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
What’s next for Danthejuice? Any exciting projects, collaborations, or goals you’re working toward?
Danthejuice:
I’ve got a lot of projects planned in my notes and I’m excited to start filming them. I also want to collaborate with other creators. Right now I’m focused on getting verified on Snapchat while continuing to post consistently.
You’re active on Instagram and YouTube as well. How does your approach differ between platforms, and what type of content works best for each?
Danthejuice:
The best content for both is professional cinematic videos. It’s more challenging but will lead to better brand deals in the future. At the moment I still create a lot of content on my phone.
Are you planning to grow your YouTube presence further, and what kind of content can your audience expect there compared to TikTok?
Danthejuice:
On TikTok my audience gets the authentic me. On YouTube it will be very well crafted cinematic videos, almost like movies.
