Movement Property Group (Keller Williams), founded by musician and realtor Matt Kirkegaard, is an important player in lending its services to further expand the Nashville, Tenn., housing market.
One area of particular focus is the trendy neighborhood of East Nashville. The popular area is within walking distance to iconic restaurants like Ugly Mugs and Rosepepper. An all-new luxury community, Shelby Green Development, located in the Shelby Golf Course, will erect about 20 homes this summer.
Playing a vital role in not only putting families in homes, but giving back to the community is at the core of what Kirkegaard enjoys doing. He founded LiftUp, which is a fund that sees 10% of net profits deposited, which is used as relief and assistance for families and individuals who are struggling to make rent and mortgage payments or who have been affected by unfortunate events or circumstances outside their control.
The Journey
Kirkegaard is as multifaceted and multi-talented as they come. But the journey has not always been easy as he was homeless for a spell, early in his career, and struggled to find his way.
His hard work and dedication never faltered, however, as he not only would go on to found a multimillion-dollar real estate business, but also a family and become a touring musician too. In fact, when he was just 14 years old, he actually opted not to attend The Juilliard School because he wanted to pursue a solo career and focus on his composition.
With two albums under his belt, 2017’s Stories of India and Love Undefined (2021), as well as having been featured on The American Dream, a popular streaming lifestyle and real estate show, Kirkegaard is well on his way to securing himself among Nashville’s influential leaders.
He also travels regularly with his wife and three children, while his wife spearheads the family travel blog, Porch to Passport, which offers an intimate look into the lives of the Kirkegaards.
Move With Movement Property Group
Kirkegaard launched his real estate career in 2015 and in just six months, was named a Top 10 agent in the highest-volume office in the state of Tennessee. Riding success, he created ‘Make Nashville Your Home’ in 2018, before pivoting the company to Movement Property Group.
