After more than a decade abroad in the United States, Jesus Luviano, a native of Huetamo, Michoacan, and the youngest of four children born to Juana Peña and Pedro Luviano, returned to a heartfelt welcome from friends, family, and community leaders. Having been embraced with pride by Fresno and Los Angeles, California as his adopted homes, Jesus was celebrated with great enthusiasm. His return highlighted his achievements and the journey that led him back to his roots, recognizing the important roles these cities and their people have played in his life.

Jesus Luviano left Huetamo over twenty years ago in search of opportunities in the United States. As a former dancer and a professional in the entertainment industry, he has made significant strides across the USA. His career has included leading fashion show productions, music concerts, and high-profile red-carpet events. He has worked with prestigious celebrities, designers, and producers, establishing a reputation for excellence and innovation in his field.

His journey has particularly awakened interest not only in the entertainment industry but also in the political sphere. As a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient, Jesus faced significant challenges due to his limited immigration status, which initially restricted his opportunities in the U.S. Despite these barriers, he overcame numerous obstacles and achieved notable milestones in his career and personal life. While Jesus prefers not to share his political views and remains reserved about his opinions, his remarkable story and steadfast commitment to his role as a DACA recipient have caught the attention of politicians in the USA, highlighting his impact as a role model and inspiring discussions about the experiences and contributions of DACA beneficiaries.

DACA is an American immigration policy that provides temporary relief from deportation and work permits to certain undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children. While it offered some protections, it did not grant permanent residency or a path to citizenship, leaving many like Jesus in a precarious situation regarding their future.

Recently, Jesus was represented by Yarra, Rivas & Associates, a law firm based in Fresno, California, which played a crucial role in altering the trajectory of his legal status. Their support has been instrumental in navigating the complexities of immigration law and securing a more stable future for Jesus.

The homecoming event in Morelia Michoacan and Huetamo was a joyous occasion, filled with private dinners, music, dancing, and speeches celebrating Jesus Luviano’s resilience and determination. Major [Presidente Municipal de Huetamo, Michoacán] Pablo Varona Estrada, along with local officials and community leaders, extended their congratulations and expressed gratitude for his positive representation of Huetamo abroad.

Among those welcoming Jesus back was Jose Demecio Baltasar Nunez, his first dance instructor who recognized his talent and potential from a young age. Simultaneously, Jesus manages a full-time role as the Rental Events Manager at the San Joaquin River Parkway & Conservation Trust, Inc., a nonprofit based in Fresno, CA. Among his upcoming highlights is the eagerly anticipated 12th Annual Metropolitan Fashion Week Los Angeles Closing Gala, presented by Kendi Lux and scheduled for September 28th, 2024. Directed by President & Founder Eduardo Khawam and Executive Producer Paul Jaramillo, this prestigious couture event will see Jesus serving as Production Director, further demonstrating his expertise and commitment to the fashion industry on an international stage.

Jesus Luviano’s return to Huetamo is a momentous occasion as he joins the ranks of other notable individuals from the town, including professional boxer Leo Santa Cruz, who has made a significant impact in the world of sports.
