Country Music Radar: JD Hardy is the Incredible Singer/Songwriter Making His Mark on the Industry

They say music is food for the soul and is the best way to communicate where words fail. While country music is arguably among the oldest music genres, it continues to dominate the music industry, especially with talents like JD Hardy.

 JD Hardy is a celebrated singer who continues to cement his spot in the industry with his unique sound and style of music. Besides singing, he is also a talented songwriter known for his numerous hit songs.

Growing up in a musical family, JD Hardy was introduced to country music at a young age. Listening to his dad and grandmother, who were both country recording artists, JD came to love country music. He recalls listening to legendary artists like Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, and hometown country music superstar, Merle Haggard among others. In his words, they were some of his biggest influences. Motivated by his love for country music, JD launched his career in the music industry.

Within no time, his unique sound captured the attention of former Curb Records president and VP for Motown Records, the legendary producer Ray Ruff and JD was signed to a deal with Sony Nashville in 2005. Two months into producing JD’s album, Ruff suffered a heart attack and passed away. According to JD Hardy, this was one of his most difficult times.

While his journey was a bit bumpy at the start, his persistence and passion are what pushed him through the difficult days. After taking some time off to grieve, JD came back with a bang. With the release of “Rebels With A Cause” and “Country Saves Me,” among other hits, JD Hardy won over the hearts of country music lovers across the globe and became a fan favorite. Several years later and his mark in the industry continues to be felt, especially with the release of his new album “killer.”

The secret to creating good music is to be unique and natural, says JD Hardy. Country music is more than beats and sounds; it is about telling a story in the most natural way that your audience will understand and relate to it. His ability and talent in composing and arranging songs both lyrically and musically to create a unique blend make his songs stand out.

In addition to creating music, JD is passionate about giving back to the community.

When not in his studio making good music, you will often find him taking part in various charity events for different organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, and Band of Brothers.

Asked about his greatest thrill in the industry, JD Hardy recalls sharing a ticket with

Randy Houser and Tyler Farr to raise over $100,000 for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. According to JD, getting to perform for his fans while also giving back to the community is one of the best feelings.
