The Ingagi Clothing line was inspired by the work of Dian Fossey. She was an activist who Alex often looked up to. She made it her life’s mission to stop the poaching of Silverback Mountain Gorillas. She wrote excessively about the condition of the Ingagis to spread awareness about them and preserve them at Virunga National Park. However, she was martyred for the cause.
The Ingagis are Silverback Mountain Gorillas that reside in the forests of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These animals have been the target of poachers for many years, which has made them critically endangered. The Dian Fossey Gorilla Foundation works to conduct research to limit the spread of disease among Ingagis and generate funds to create a strong task force against poachers.
Following the legacy of Dian Fossey, Alex stated his own clothing line, “Ingagi Clothing.” The 15% sale proceeds from the company are donated to The Dian Fossey Gorilla Foundation to protect and preserve the Ingagis. Alex is keen on expanding this sustainable fashion-forward clothing to spread awareness and collect funds to support the cause.
