With the rise of social media, people no longer need Hollywood, huge music labels, or massive PR teams to succeed. Social media has given people access to billions of potential fans worldwide, and many have ridden this wave to success. One of this new generation of stars is Charlotte Parkes.
Seven years ago Charlotte Parkes was just a girl with a dream to become a face that everyone would know. Today, this young digital content creator/fashion model/gamer girl from the UK is making huge waves on social media platforms with her captivating YouTube and TikTok videos.
Charlotte has amassed a massive social media following: 1.3 million on TikTok, over 700,000 on Instagram, 675,00 on YouTube, and approximately 200,000 on all other social media platforms (Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
For her, this success is a dream come true. As she explains, it allowed her to rub shoulders with some of LA’s hottest stars and work with leading brands and companies including Fashion Nova, Maven Beauty, FaZe Clan, Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, and TikTok. “Stepping into the spotlight has opened many doors for me. I could finally do what I always wanted,” says Charlotte Parkes. “I was always an avid gamer and recently, I got an exclusive contract with Facebook to create gaming-based video content for them. Another long-term partner is Fashion Nova and I’ve been modeling for them for around five years now. And I must admit, being able to express myself in so many ways is exhilarating.”
However, out of all of those experiences, Charlotte points out that spending time in FaZe Clan House was the most memorable. FaZe Clan is one of the world’s largest gaming and eSports organizations, and Charlotte spent over three and a half years as their senior talent manager. “When you’re a part of something that big, it’s really eye-opening. You get to meet these amazing people who share your passions,” says Charlotte. “Making new friends, filming videos with housemates, sharing ideas and knowledge—– the whole experience helped me gain new insights and turned me into a better person, a more skillful gamer, and an even better digital content creator.”
And for those who think that a dream of scoring big seems unattainable and far away, Charlotte Parkes has a few words of encouragement, “Don’t be afraid to dream big, but at the same time, don’t forget to work hard to make that dream come true. Sharpen your brain, focus your mind, and after that, there is nothing that will ever stop you.”
