Mondays at 8 pm just got a whole lot more interesting. First Off In My Opinion with Tom Swoope is taking extreme messaging to a whole new level. This is definitely not your father’s podcast. Tom’s in-your-face point of view, mixed with love and humor set the stage for deep conversations and epic storytelling. The third show of season 2 “The More Toxic The Better” has had quite the reception. Over 22139 downloads in the first 72hrs helped the show break into the top 200 on Apple Podcast Charts.
To put this show’s early success into perspective. An average podcast episode that has been live for approximately 30 days averages 141 downloads. If you have over 3400 downloads you are in the top 10%. If you have over 9000 downloads you are in the top 5%. First Off In My Opinion with Tom Swoope is crushing the podcast charts. Making such headway as an independent podcast without network or sponsor backing is starting to become very uncommon in the industry. Big platforms like Pandora and Spotify are pushing heavy resources into developing their podcast sections respectfully. Spotify just recently engaged in a bidding war for the main distribution of Joe Budden’s podcast Joe Budden Podcast. Also, Joe Rogan The Joe Rogan Experience inked a $30 million deal: The decade-old podcast is No. 1 in the world and claims as many as 190 million downloads per month.
Some Of The Highest Earning Podcasts
- The Joe Rogan Experience makes about $800,000 per episode. …
- Chapo Trap House has 32,874 patrons, which equals $147,262 per month.
- Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income has two podcasts. …
- Last Podcast On The Left has 11,290, which equals $53,958 per month.
Podcasting listeners are growing at an exponential rate across the US. During the latest annual survey in 2021, it was found that 57 percent of US consumers listened to audio podcasts, up from 55 percent in the previous year. According to the same report, half of all podcast listeners are aged 12 to 34, with listeners 35+ making up the other half. While it might seem as if everyone is starting a show at the moment, data shows podcasting is growing every year, and it’s far from peaking. So no, data doesn’t support the claim that podcasting is oversaturated, but I get it. New shows seem to be popping out almost on a daily basis.
First Off In My Opinion has a long way to go to catch up to the big dawgs but with the right exposure and continued solid content this show is truly on its way.
