Switching a career is a tough decision to make, as success is not always guaranteed when you do so. But for Xavier Dean, the CEO of Xavier Dean Realty and Digital Muse, things turned out pretty well for him when he did. He transitioned from being a successful entrepreneur to a Hollywood star, and his journey taught him three big life lessons that he wants to share with the world.
The first lesson he learned is “Grab every opportunity”. Although he’s a millionaire now, his life had very humble beginnings. His family was poor and for a long while they were homeless as well. The struggles Dean went through as a child made him into a person who was more willing to take chances when there was a possibility of it paying off.
At the age of 13, Xavier got his first job bagging groceries, but at the age of 15, he made up his mind to become a professional fitness trainer. With hard work and his sharp marketing skills, he managed to start a fitness training business by the time he was 21, but shortly afterwards he made the first major career change of his life and became a real estate agent. By the time he was 26, he was making millions of dollars a year in sales.
Despite the success of his real estate career, when Dean got the opportunity to become an actor, he didn’t hesitate to take it. He was cast in the lead role in an independent film, kicking off the start of his film career.
“Never give up” is the second lesson Dean learned. The real estate industry and Hollywood are both extremely competitive, and it’s rare for a brand-new actor to find any kind of immediate success. Nonetheless, he never gave up pursuing his goals. Thanks to his determination, Dean is now a successful starring actor in several movies and TV shows.
When the recession hit in the late 2000s, Dean was forced to temporarily take a step back from the real estate industry, and returned to his fitness business. When he felt the market was right for it, however, he returned to the business, launching his real estate company Xavier Dean Realty which currently makes over $350 million in sales annually.
It was only after the start of his acting career that Dean learned his third life lesson: “Find your passion”. He always knew that his true interests lay in the entertainment industry, and even as a successful real estate agent, he couldn’t ignore the call of Hollywood. Eventually his efforts to become an actor paid off, and he is currently enjoying ever-increasing exposure and popularity in the industry. Need proof? Xavier believes that being in the right mindset right for success while seizing every situation made him the man that he is today. Throughout all of his successes, however, Xavier has continued helping others and wants to keep on training aspiring entrepreneurs to become successful like him.
