It’s no secret that people are growing more savvy with ensuring the safety of what they’re consuming, and this awareness is becoming a full-fledged movement with initiatives like the Clean Label Project. One company who has been part of the clean revolution for over a year and a half is the dietary supplement brand, MaryRuth’s. At MaryRuth’s, they are wholeheartedly embracing the work of Clean Label Project (CLP), emphasizing their dedication to transparency and product quality. CLP’s extensive testing protocols include ingredient purity, safety, and overall product cleanliness.
MaryRuth’s diligently ensures that each component in their supplements adheres to the most rigorous standards, providing customers with the confidence that what they are consuming represents not merely a supplement, but MaryRuth’s pledge to their wellbeing.
Included in the MaryRuth’s line of CLP Certified products are the bestselling Liquid Morning Multivitamin, Liquid Nighttime Multimineral (Coconut), Vitamin C Gummies, Organic Elderberry Liquid Drops, Prenatal & Postnatal Liquid Multivitamin, Kids Multivitamin Gummies, and so many more — all third party tested for hundreds of industrial and environmental contaminants and toxins by CLP.
We sat down with CEO and Founder of MaryRuth’s, MaryRuth Ghiyam, to learn more about how MaryRuth’s tests their products and why it is so important. Ghiyam is thinking about food safety from a fresh perspective, and, in addition to the more than 100 individually certified products, MaryRuth’s itself is Clean Label Project Brand Certified.
The Importance of Clean Vitamins
Clean Label Project has taken on the significant consumer concerns of heavy metals, pesticide residues, plasticizers, certain chemicals, and truth in labeling, creating a certification, testing, and award program to help customers find products they can trust. Plus, the CLP provides annual surprise testing, meaning customers can rest assured that CLP Certified products continue to deliver the standards they’ve come to expect.
If a product, like MaryRuth’s growing list, has CLP Certification, it means that the CLP used the strictest regulation possible as benchmarks when testing it. Primarily, CLP uses the State of California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 AKA Proposition 65, which works to eliminate chemicals that are believed to cause cancer, birth defects, or other harm.
According to the CLP website, “Clean Label Project runs lab tests on hundreds of products to see if they pass the standards that are set.”
To dive deeper into the importance of these tests and the methodologies behind them, check out the CLP Code of Practice.
One statement that stands out: “We establish evidence-based benchmarks to identify America’s best products using data and science as opposed to marketing.”
MaryRuth’s Story
Ghiyam herself is a certified health educator, nutritional consultant, and culinary chef, who lost her brother and father too early in life. Following this, her mother was diagnosed with two benign brain tumors.
These experiences led Ghiyam on a journey to discovering the body’s ability to heal itself; she was on a mission to find what works. Thus, the MaryRuth’s wholesome multivitamin, with vegan, non-GMO ingredients, was born.
“Above all else, MaryRuth’s takes care to promote practical steps toward health,” Ghiyam shared. “While I wish we could all get everything we need from the food we eat, the water we drink, and the sun that shines upon us, sometimes there are obstacles. I value our customers’ trust in our products to ensure their nutrition goals are being met, and working with Clean Label Project is our commitment to our customers to provide safe and clean products.”
