Angelina Jolie walked at the red carpet premiere of Disney’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” and wore a gown fit for a villain. The event was held in Hollywood, Los Angeles at the El Capitan Theatre last Monday and the actress brought her kids along. At the premiere, Jolie wore something out of Maleficent’s modern closet.
The wickedly gorgeous Atelier Versace slinky gown was made of a black shimmering metal mesh material. It draped beautifully on the actress who gave us a throwback to her earlier goth years. As a nod to her spooky character Maleficent, the gown featured an eye-catching brooch in the shape of a scorpion attached by her waist.
The Adventurine later reported that the scorpion embellishment was actually a 50-carat diamond brooch. Not only that, it featured gold detailing and black diamonds under its legs. The outlet reports that Jolie herself designed the statement piece with Robert Procop, a jeweler based in Los Angeles.
Let’s just say the Hollywood actress definitely did not disappoint with her show-stopping look that night. The giant diamond-encrusted brooch spoke for itself as Jolie opted out of wearing any more jewelry along with the statement piece.
At the premiere, Entertainment Tonight reports that the mother of six couldn’t help but gush about her kids. “It’s just so wonderful to have their [support],” she tells the entertainment outlet of her kids. “They’re my friends.”
Joining her at the red carpet were her co-stars Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is currently showing in theaters.
