HEMP 2.0: New Studies Show CBG-A and CBD-A Protect Cells & May Even Prevent Advancement of COVID

Ryan Early, known as Farmer Ryan, founder and owner of Blue Green Ventures, is playing an integral role as part of a discovery team that is currently spearheading initiatives at the forefront of hemp-led wellness. Recent studies reveal that CBG-A and CBD-A may protect cells and may even prevent advancement of COVID.

“Can-Tek Labs is excited that we can provide these cannabinoids and have already started our development of a specific ratio of these specific, minor cannabinoids – CBD-A and CBG-A – back in 2019,” said Early. “During Project Hemp for Victory, we also acquired two high-yielding CBD-A and CBG-A hemp plants that we have dedicated our research farm to growing – and our greenhouses are already filled!”

So what, exactly, is Early so hype about? Well, it’s something for which we all should be thrilled.

What Are CBD-A and CBG-A, and Why Do They Matter?

Recent studies conducted at Oregon State University have shown that some components of hemp could, potentially, prevent the spread of COVID-19. The studies, led by Linus Pauling Institute and Richard van Breemen, Researcher for Oregon State’s Global Hemp Innovation Center in the College of Pharmacy, revealed that Cannabidolic acid (CBD-A) and Cannabigerolic acid (CBG-A) cling to the COVID-19 spike protein. It is reported that this clinging action prevents the virus from being able to infect healthy cells, acting, for all intents and purposes, like a shield. CBD-A and CBG-A are components of hemp.

“These cannabinoid acids are abundant in hemp and in many hemp extracts,” said Breemen. “They are not controlled substances like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, and have a good safety profile in humans.”

Interestingly, the spike protein on the COVID-19 cell is the same one that the current vaccines and antibody therapies target.

CBD-A and CBG-A do not guarantee the prevention of viral infection, but the potential for resistance is possible. Breemen’s belief is that these two components provide a logical pairing that, when combined with the COVID-19 vaccines, can provide a strengthened force against the virus.

What is Can-Tek Labs?

Can-Tek Labs, Oklahoma’s first cannabis company established in 2016, is a raw goods manufacturer, ingredients provider, and compounding manufacturing facility. Can-Tek labs is sought out for production of high-quality hemp-infused products. Under Can-Tek Labs, Hempyre Genetics is a hemp research and development company that is known for its unique and desirable genetics.

The Genetics group is compliant with the enforcement of hemp growing and production standards required by the U.S. 2018 Farm Bill, which created crucial programs that empower America’s agricultural producers by way of provisions and design guidelines.

Project Hemp for Victory, started in 2018 by Early and Hempyre Genetics, was an endeavor to recover hemp genetics that were leftover from the industrial hemp farming era during World War II in Oklahoma.

“We set out in an attempt to identify new characteristics, certain terpene and cannabinoid compounds, ratios of those specific compounds, as well as textiles and manufacturing components,” said Early of the project. “Some of those genetics were extremely unique and contained rare minor cannabinoids.”

How it All Connects

Early and his team developed a hemp oil tincture with CBD-A and CBG-A.

“Utilizing both genetics, we’re producing products with proprietary ratios of CBD with CBD-A and CBG-A-rich components,” he explained.

As research and findings continue to expand, Can-Tek Labs and Hempyre Genetics continue to follow the scientific trends and conduct their own research.

CBD-A and CBG-A are at the forefront of everyone’s minds in terms of cell protections and possibly COVID containment or prevention, and Early is eager to discover the helpful qualities of still other lesser-known cannabinoids.

About Ryan Early

Ryan Early is the controlling owner of Blue Green Ventures, American Wholesale Hemp, Hempyre Genetics, and Can-Tek Labs, and the General Contractor for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. He is also the owner of the Midwest Microbiome Repository, in charge of gathering and testing various strains of hemp. After testing hundreds of specimens, Ryan discovered the secret terpene complex that will power the future of natural farming, called BlueMagic ( For more information on CBD-A and CBG-A and Ryan’s Full Spectrum Ruby product, please visit or
