New Ruby Trade Colour Was Described by the Grandmaster Guruji Shrii Arnav a Decade Back

Red hot and radiant rubies have captured the hearts of gem lovers for centuries, and now there’s a fresh addition to the family!

The Gübelin Gem Lab, one of the world’s most advanced gem labs, has announced a new trade color for rubies called Crimson Red. This unique shade is characterized as a rich, saturated red with a hint of purple, high transparency, and clarity, without any major windowing or extinction, and untreated. Unlike pigeon blood red rubies, crimson red rubies show little to no fluorescence in short-wave UV light. The Gübelin Gem Lab reports will start using this new trade color beginning on February 1st, 2023, see more here https://www.gubelingemlab.com/crimsonred.

However, there’s a twist to this story that’s recently been discovered!

Grandmaster Guruji Shrii Arnav, a renowned gem expert from GemstoneUniverse and the Father of Astro Gemology stated in a FB post with screenshots describing this coveted colour nearly a decade ago.

In 2011, Revered Guruji Shrii Arnav Arnav wrote about a stunning lot of rubies he sourced from Tanzania, referring to the color as “Crimson Red.”

Importantly, he hasn’t just used the term to describe rubies but high quality garnets as well.

According to him, understanding color in gems is not just a matter of art but also a spiritual journey.

He believes that light and color are the two key factors that make gems powerful, and they have the ability to change one’s life.

He also states that one needs to be dedicated to their profession to truly appreciate the subtle differences in gem colors and that is what sets him and the GemstoneUniverse apart from the competition.

The Grandmaster highlights that learning the real skills in the gem industry requires a good teacher and a genuine passion for the field.

However, most gem labs and institutes do not share the complete knowledge.

He adds that a person needs to have a hunger for success adding the punch line that” Talent hits a target no one can hit but Genius hits a Target no one can see”.

The Gemstoneuniverse blog is a powerhouse of information much sought after both by students as well as Gemology experts.

The ongoing quest for new discoveries and the beauty and power of gems continue to captivate us all. Says Stephanie Arthur a Gemologist and a Jeweller from
