Mental Health and Finding Ways to Control Your Chaos With Mikey Tableman

Mikey Tableman, founder, host, author, and spoken word artist, has built a career that bridges creativity, leadership, and mental health advocacy. Originally from New York, he moved to Los Angeles more than a decade ago with the same ambition many creatives carry: to build something meaningful.

Early in his career, Tableman worked in hospitality and large-scale entertainment, particularly overseeing VIP services at major festivals and events. Those roles placed him in high-pressure environments working with artists, executives, and public figures, where he has strengthened his skills in leadership, logistics, and relationship-building along the way.

What has stayed with him, however, is the people. While working within nightlife and festival culture, Tableman began noticing how many outwardly confident individuals were quietly managing anxiety, burnout, or identity struggles.

His own experiences with anxiety and performance pressure pushed him to look beyond event production and explore deeper questions about mental health.

The Birth of A Mind’s Pursuit

That exploration led to A Mind’s Pursuit, a nonprofit media and community platform dedicated to storytelling and conversations around mental health. Operating as a 501(c)(3), the organization brings together podcasts, live experiences, publishing projects, and community discussions aimed toward encouraging honest dialogue.

Tableman explains the motivation clearly: “Losing myself taught me why purpose matters, so I built A Mind’s Pursuit to be what I needed when I was fighting battles I didn’t think I’d survive; a place where people don’t have to pretend they’re okay to be seen.”

The mission addresses a broader challenge within the larger mental health community. Nearly one in ten men experiences depression or anxiety, yet fewer than half seek treatment. Each year, more than six million men suffer from depression, and men die by suicide at significantly higher rates than women. These numbers highlight how stigma continues to shape conversations about vulnerability.

Chaos Controlled and Expanding Conversations

Since AMP’s inception, Tableman has become more widely known for hosting Chaos Controlled, a podcast he created with actor Danny Gomez. What started as a conversation between friends has grown into a four-camera studio platform reaching millions of viewers across various streaming and digital channels.

The show features artists, actors, athletes, disability advocates, and entrepreneurs, creating space for conversations that combine culture with lived experience. As the third season concludes in March 2026, the show has continued to grow and find new ways to add to its audience.

Alongside the main program, the team launched “Into the Chaos,” a social media extension that brings conversations into live events, red carpets, and community spaces.

With season four in pre-production and set to expand the platform further with larger guests and the addition of a yet-to-be-announced celebrity co-host, Tableman plans to step back from full-time hosting to focus more on executive producing and strategic expansion while remaining creatively involved.

Art, Storytelling, and the Maze Within

Tableman’s next body of creative work also includes My Manic Maze, a spoken-word concept EP produced by Nate Sounds and Jerry Lang. The project explores anxiety, addiction, and suicidal ideation through immersive storytelling and music.

Structured as a concept album, the EP moves through racing thoughts, isolation, shame, and survival. The production places listeners inside the emotional experience rather than presenting poetry over ambient sounds and minimal instrumentation.

The companion book expands on those themes. Written as a pseudo-memoir, it reveals the experiences behind the poems and the personal rebuilding journey that followed.

Building Culture Through Conversation

Tableman’s ongoing presence in nightlife and festival hospitality continues to shape how he leads and builds community. Years of managing high-level environments taught him to prioritize balance while navigating ways to improve structure, collaboration, and long-term thinking amongst his peers.

Those skills now support the growing network under the A Mind’s Pursuit umbrella. Upcoming projects include Conversation with the Boys, a platform focused on men’s mental health dialogue and accountability, along with Drip: Coffee & Connection, a networking series designed to bring people together through like-mindedness and small talk.

Through podcasting, spoken-word poetry, and community events, Tableman continues to work to remove the stigma surrounding mental health, and his goal remains clear: build spaces where people can speak honestly, connect with others, and move forward while overcoming challenges.
