As a highly-regarded veteran, Christopher Childress is well aware of the importance of promoting a healthy mind and body.
When he realized that the snacks he was eating did not contain any nutritional value, he became motivated to create his very own dietary snack company Lazy Snacks LLC. Scheduled to launch very soon, Lazy Snacks is set to become a go-to snack provider for many.
Hey Christopher, can you begin by telling us a bit about yourself?
Well, I grew up in Ohio as a happy kid with my mother and sisters. I would spend my summers in Tennessee with my dad because my parents lived in separate states. Life was simple, but it had some challenges. My senior year in high school was a struggle. My grades were poor, and I was on track to not graduate on time. At the time my school offered a program that allowed credit requirements to be met via computer training. I remember my first day showing up and seeing two-small shack like buildings. I felt like an outsider to say the least.
Not only did I make up these credits, but I met the requirements earlier than expect. By December I was finished with schoolwork but graduation was not until that upcoming June. During this time a good friend suggested I join the military with him. I was sold! I officially had my date to join the Air Force. One day I received a random call from my recruiter, Sergeant Lindsay. I was offered a chance to fill a spot and leave the next day.
This would mean I would miss my high school graduation. After some heavy consideration, I was enlisted in the world’s greatest Air Force. Not knowing what I was getting into, less than a year later I was conducting missions in a combat zone at the age of 18. This was only 1 of 5 of my deployments throughout my career. With dedication and hard work, I was promoted quickly to the role of a Military Working Dog Trainer. This tight community provided some of the best experiences of my life. After 11 years of service, I decided to switch gears and pursue a career in Cyber Security. This led to roles with Fortune 500 companies, The Department of Defense, and Homeland Security. Now I live my life sharing love, joy and information with others.
When did you decide to create Lazy Snacks LLC?
